Oh my goodness. So yesterday was quite interesting. It was full of fun, saying goodbyes, saying hellos, and being held up at airport security for a butter knife. Let me fill yall in.
So yesterday was my last day at Berry. I finished work around 11, and got to have lunch with some of my most favorite people ever, and others kept coming to join us. It was so much fun. That way I got to see a lot of different people and say bye before I left until August. And I just got to hang out in Krannert, still seeing plenty of people. It was wonderful. I ran a few errands and got to give more heartfelt goodbyes. :) I only teared up once. I mean thats really good. I tear up real easy. And plus its not goodbye forever. And I am getting more stoked for Argentina everyday. I left Berry around 4 thinking that I was gonna head to the airport that night with my mom to catch a 10pm flight to SFO. Little did I know things were gonna change.
I was on 411 talking to her about the number of seats left on the plane, and they were not looking good because 300 flights had been canceled earlier because of the storm in Chicago. So we decided to take our chances with the flights the next morning. So once I hit 285, already passing the airport and about 30 min from home my mom calls me and was like THERE ARE SEATS TO SAN JOSE. My chances of getting on a plane were slim the next day, so I took the chance. I jumped on 85 south at about 5:30ish. The flight was at 7:15. So I def didn't have a ton of time. Got stuck in traffic and didn’t end up getting to the airport until 6:30. I wasn't packed so as I had sat in traffic I was throwing stuff out of my duffle bag I wouldn’t need and when I parked my car at the park n fly, the bus lady watched me frantically pack what I could fit into my bag, with all my snowboarding stuff. hahah I really didn’t have any idea what I packed. Then once on the bus, my mom called me and told me that my flight was delayed, which was a HUGE blessing. I got to the airport, tried to check in, I was too late for check in, so I had to have an agent help me, booked it to security, forgot that I had a butter knife in my backpack because I had peanut butter and apples for lunch, and needed a knife, got stuck in line behind the slowest person in the world to have my bad looked at, and asked a security guard to just take the knife and let me go because I was going to be late! He was like are you sure you don’t want to try to keep the knife, and I laughed and said of course not, and I was free to go. Then of course my concourse was the absolute furthest from security, and my gate the furtherest one back in the concourse. But I made it on the plane. But the fun didn’t end there. I had to pass my seat to put my luggage up, and then made a scene trying to get back to my seat. Hilarous. Crazy. Oh my goodness. It was too funny. I wish y’all could have seen it.
Now I am just chillin in California, waiting for my mom to get here, and leaving tomorrow for Tahoe to board. The Lord was so good to me in keeping me safe in my craziness, and is preparing my heart for Argentina. I am for sure excited, and wondering what the next several months are going to look like. Yes I am nervous, but thats good. I am so thankful for all the prayers and all the hugs yesterday. Love all of you. It was a beautiful day.
I’ll try my best to update you all while I am down there. I’ll be in the states until the 1st or the 2nd.
Peace.
